Roy Wilson is a wedding photographer born and brought up in the city of Glasgow Scotland. As a child growing up in Glasgow south side, Newton Mearns, he quickly showed a strong artistic and technical side. In his early childhood these two unique talents drew closer together, and merged in the form of photography. Before starting his career as a wedding photographer, Roy was interested in nature and landscapes, and to this day remains one of his hobbies. The problem soon arose when wanting to turn professional he quickly realised that in order to make a living, landscape and nature photography just weren`t going to cut it. His next step was to start taking portrait photos. A local country Club provided the opportunity to have a make shift Studio to take portrait photos of families and children, as well later on some very famous football celebrities. During this course of studio photography, Roy was asked increasingly more often to take photographs at weddings. Initially put off by the high responsibility, Roy continued to take portrait photos, sometimes travelling with his mobile studio kit to different locations. Roy was offered the opportunity to photograph a small local wedding of a family member.It was made clear that this was a trial run, and the bride and Groom were`nt to expect too much fron the photos. The outcome was nothing less that spectacular, a lovely mix of traditional and formal shots all photographed in a theme with the atmosphere of his home city Glasgow. Roy used the typical Glasgow weather to produce dramatic and atmospheric images Roy loves to work in a mixture of Black and white and colour. The interesting thing that he does is use different colours in an image to create a high contrast when the image is desaturated. Working as a wedding photographer in Glasgow for the past 10 years now, Roy has built an extensive portfolio with an amazing mix of atmospheric images from all around Glasgow and Scotland. Roy`s favourite city for photographing weddings is Glasgow due to its unique architecture and atmosphere, not to mention the people are great so friendly and full of character. Roy Believes in Capturing the personality in an image, so the Glasgow people are a perfect subject.
